Road Maintenance Equipment - Spring Loaded Drawbars:
If you are involved in earth moving or council work Catford Engineering manufactures spring loaded drawbar cartridges that are used to reduce shock loading on the towing vehicle's transmission. Three sizes of drawbar cartridge are manufactured to suit machinery of various weights. Sizes available are:
3 to 7 tonne - 8 to 15 tonne - 16 to 20 tonne
.
The cartridges consist of a heavy duty, spring loaded, dust proofed mechanism which markedly reduces shock loading on o clutches o transmissions o structural frameworks. It also considerably increases driver comfort. The cartridges are welded or bolted to existing heavy towed machines (mainly those used in road construction).
Road Maintenance Equipment - Rollers:
We also manufacture stone crushing rollers, combination rollers and flat drum rollers. Our website contains pictures and information on the equipment we have designed and manufactured. Click on Council road rollers to view the rollers we have built. To see detailed specifications download the PDF files from this section

The drum size is 1250mm diameter x 1800mm wide with drum thickness of 25mm, 32mm or 40mm. The drum can be raised or lowered by using tractor hydraulics. It has a spring loaded adjustable drum scraper and includes indicator and warning lights to motor vehicle registrar specifications. Our combination rollers are 12 tonne capacity and have a machined ball bearing race turntable. The roller includes a swivel draw bar. It has a 100 x 100 x 6.0 mm RHS top and bottom A-frame. A 300 kg winch is used to raise and lower the RHS top A-frame. It comes complete with 10 ply compactor tyres, oscillating rear wheel sub assembly, lock away tool compartment and a heavy duty wind up jack for the bottom A-Frame.

Road Maintenance Equipment - Lifting Devices:
Are you a council looking for a special lifting or crane device? Why risk injury to your employees? When lifting, always use a Catford Loading Crane. We manufacture both front mount and rear mount loading cranes. These can be installed on both utes and trucks. They are easy to use. The front mount has four stages 500, 400, 300 and 200 kg and the rear mount has three stages 500, 400, and 300 kg. If you purchase the crane with electro-hydraulic 12 or 24V power pack, the main lift ram is operated by the power pack. The other option is to use a hand jack to operate the main lift arm. The telescopic boom is manually adjustable on both models. The cranes are designed to use minimal tray space when not in use and the slew rotates through 360 deg. A drop leg stabiliser jack is an optional extra.
