The main motive for the conception of Catford Engineering was the need for agricultural machinery repairs and construction. Twenty-six years on we are providing our customers a wide range of services in repairs, maintenance and construction of equipment in: Agriculture, Earthmoving, Mining, Council, Heavy & Light Engineering

TheTractor Front End Loader is one of the main manufacturing jobs that our workshop specializes in. Our custom built loaders feature strength, reliability, endurance, performance and quality. The double acting side and front rams are specially designed. All of our loaders are fitted with double braid hydraulic hose.

We also provide various bucket sizes and all pivot points have easy to get at grease nipples.

Our Tractor Front End Loader is optionally manufactured with Safe Lift Level Lift and loader attachments.

We also manufacture Hydraulic Posthole diggers that have a very sturdy construction and require minimal maintenance. These posthole diggers use a standard 8" hydraulic ram, which provides effective down pressure. We build a heavy-duty framework which is solidly bolted to the rear of the tractor.

We also sell a variety of attachments to fit the posthole digger frame; rippers, polypipe layers, angle dozer blades and two prong forks are available. We manufacture augers for Catford post hole diggers and other brands are made to suit your digger. These augers are available in the following imperial sizes: 4-½, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13" diameter. All of our augers are very heavy duty and built to last. The housing that the flighting is welded onto is constructed from solid Duraflex shaft. Driving the auger is a Jayben P.T.O. shaft with a ratchet clutch going through a heavy-duty right angle drive gearbox.

Remember that your posthole digger is only as good as your cutting head. So an essential addition to any auger is a Pengo auger kit to provide faster and more efficient ground penetration where and when you need it. The kit consists of two permanently attached shank plates for double cut, one permanently attached drive lug for the pilot bit, one uniquely designed pilot bit, one set of fully forged nickel alloy teeth and one length of rub'r'lok to hold the teeth securely in place. A simple welding procedure fits the shank plates and drive lug to the business end of your auger, knock in the teeth, bolt the pilot on and you are ready to dig. Catford's can also provide you with a variety of Pengo cutting tips, teeth, drive lugs and pilots.

To supplement our tractor front end loader range we also supply other equipment to assist with your farm. We manufacture hydraulic land rollers. Our land rollers can assist with your legume crops including peas, vetch, beans and clover production. They can also be used in stubble retention farming for compaction of earth around seed and the breaking down of stubble. These rollers are designed to be carried full of water or oil in the folded position. Our rollers also have a fully adjustable tow bar tongue.

Another first class service provided by Catford Engineering is our Three Point Linkage. We can supply Three Point Linkage in either kit form or fitted to your tractor. These are fitted complete with a 3rd link arm. We supply them in category two or three.

Are you looking for a special lifting or crane device? Why risk injury to your workmen? When lifting, always use a Catford Loading Crane. We manufacture both front mount and rear mount loading cranes. These can be installed on both utes and trucks. They are easy to use. The front mount crane has four stages 500, 400, 300 and 200 kg and the rear mount has three stages 500, 400, and 300 kg. If you purchase the crane with electro-hydraulic 12 or 24v power pack, the main lift ram is operated by the power pack. The other option is to use a hand jack to operate the main lift arm. The telescopic boom is manually adjustable on both models. The cranes are designed to use minimal tray space when not in use and the slew rotates through 360 deg. A drop leg stabiliser jack is an optional extra.

Catford Engineering also manufactures other back saving devices, the Drum Lifter and the Enviro Drum Lifters. The Drum Lifter fits 200 litre drums and has extra adjustments for drums of slightly different diameters. It comes with a safety chain to prevent accidental dislodgement of the safety catch. It is zinc coated and be used to lift weights up to 500 kg. The Enviro Drum lifters are available for 2 applications. One is for square 100 litre plastic drums and the other for round 110 litre plastic drums. They can both be used for weights up to 200 kg and are zinc coated for extra protection.
